Faith is an amazing phenomenon and its power is hard to understand. This year in Sri Lanka, I visited the city of Anuradhapura - a sacred retreat for buddhists. Several interesting structures relating to buddhism and the kingdoms of this beautiful land are housed in this city.

I sat near the sacred Bodhi tree in Anuradhapura and watched the faces of faith among those that visited to pay respect to this symbol of buddhism. The faces of faith varied in age, intensity, mood and various other factors. I managed to capture a few.
Offering flowers is one of the ways of showing devotion and faith in the doctrines of Buddha. The chants associated with the offering of flowers have deep meaning comparing the fading of the flowers with our lives.
